The Consensus
Seasoned photographers will appreciate it better than newbies but the Canon EOS 70D is an excellent camera for either user. Photo and video control is amazing and though it will be a bit much for the beginner, the novice will certainly have loads to learn and do with the 70D. The 70D’s Dual Pixel AF is the best and though it can be improved, it is awesome the way it is.
Hardware and Design
The camera body only weighs 23.8 oz it is slightly heavier but that is because of the additional features packed into the 70D. It measures slightly larger as well but it is not at all bulky at 5.5 in (W) x 4.1 in (H)x 3.1 in (D). It is designed intuitively and the controls are all easy to get to with lots of grip surface.

Maximum shutter speed is at an outstanding 1/8000th of a second so you may find the very little escapes the 70D. Performance
Made for the amateur photographer who has come around to become more than an amateur its versatility is at the leading edge. From selfies, portraits, action etc., this camera has the capability.
Battery Life, Wi-fi, and Other Features
The LP-E6 provides you with ample power for stills at around 800 -1000 shots but that is drastically cut down with Live View at only 220 – 230 shots. WiFi is built-in but it has minor issues.
